ABOUT MINDAUGAS

Education – My Journey in the World of Music

Born in 1989 in Tauragė, Lithuania, I began my piano studies at the age of six under the guidance of Nina Šeptun. Music quickly became my passion, and I continued my professional training with Juratė Liutkienė in Klaipėda.

My academic journey led me to esteemed institutions, where I earned master’s degrees from the Sibelius Academy, the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, and the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.

Additionally, I completed a degree in music pedagogy, which deepened my understanding of teaching and shaped my pedagogical approach.

For me, music is far more than a profession—it is my passion and way of life. I strive to continuously develop my skills and share my expertise as both a performer and educator, inspiring and supporting others on their musical journeys.

International Concerts

I have performed extensively as a soloist, chamber musician, and lied pianist in France, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Greece, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. I have had the honor of appearing as a soloist with distinguished ensembles, including the Estonian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian Academy of Music Orchestra, Camerata Klaipėda, and Collegium Musicum Turku.

I have also participated in renowned piano festivals, such as the Piano Pic Festival in France and the Chopiniana Festival in Estonia. From 2011 to 2012, I served as a founding member and artistic director of the international Tallinn JazzOn Festival, an enriching opportunity to bring jazz music to a wider audience.

Music has taken me to remarkable concert halls worldwide, with each performance offering a unique chance to share my passion and musical story with audiences.

Competitions and Awards

I have achieved success in piano competitions both in my home country and internationally. In 2014, I was selected as a finalist in the Estonian National Piano Competition.

I also participated twice in the “Music Without Limits” competition in Druskininkai, winning awards on both occasions.

One of my most significant achievements was securing third prize at the W.A. Mozart Piano Competition in Klaipėda in 2007.

Chamber Musician and Piano Teacher

Chamber music has always been a vital part of my career. I have performed extensively in various ensembles, accompanied choirs and vocalists, and founded Duo Baltica, with which I have presented diverse repertoire in concert halls. The dynamic interplay and musical dialogue in chamber music particularly captivate me.

Teaching piano is a profound passion of mine, and I have had the privilege of instructing students of all levels and backgrounds. In Helsinki, I offer lessons in four languages—Finnish, English, Lithuanian, and Russian—to ensure every student feels comfortable and can learn in their native language.

My goal is to inspire my students to discover their unique musical voice and develop their skills comprehensively, whether they are beginners or advanced pianists. My teaching combines traditional classical music methods with modern approaches to provide a well-rounded and inspiring learning experience.

My aim is to help each student achieve their personal goals in piano playing and find joy in music with all their heart.
